God, please open my heart and mind, lend faith to hear Your message. For I know my prayer is not necessary as You already know everything about me; my wants, my longings; my purpose. Prayer is my choice, my ritual, my way to connect. Today I pray to use His words to fill my mind and my heart with purpose, direction, love. In meditation I will listen. I will listen with my mind and with my heart.
We come here in choice, to reincarnate in flesh in order for spirit to play out what it needs to get closer to home. It's difficult getting out of our own way, from not realizing that we are not the faults in which we believe. For it is our beliefs that limit us.
Thank you for gifting me with choice. Realizing that the choice is mine to choose sorrow over joy is reassuring. Thank You for the knowing that I can ask You for what I need . . . faith, strength, courage, love, forgiveness, acceptance, compassion, understanding, and mostly, for seeing the point of interest in everything; to see likeness instead of difference.
No longer afraid to go down to my knees, I am thankful that I know how to go within, into the most private space in order to speak with You directly. I need not go to church or to temple. I need not fear humiliation or shame for I have found truth through trusting in You, in the intimacy of our sacred bond, in our private relationship, in the knowing that you do not judge and that all I need do is open my mind and my heart.
To ask in prayer, not for what I want, but instead to get out of my own way and to trust in You lets me purge and make room. Prayer helps me to re-train my mind, to eliminate the thoughts I would wish not be viewed by all. Prayer cleanses my mind and opens my heart so I'm ready to listen and hear direction through meditation. With my little self out of the way, I can access my higher Self. My higher Self permits new space, a clean slate, for allowance, for guidance, and for love to flow freely.
I have greater appreciation for life and love with inner focus. Your loves allows me to love and appreciate myself and fuels love and appreciation for all things created by You. I now see beauty in all things, animate and inanimate. I freely send love and receive love abundantly. For You allow me to see faults as gifts, uniqueness as a blessing, and encourage me to become my best self.
My prayers extend beyond myself, for our children must find You and gain inner vision. With You, our children will know how to live. With faith in themselves, they can trust the universe. They can turn to You to ask when in need. They will know how to do all things first to please You as You will instruct them how. They will know how do be self-governing so that they may discover purpose and peace. For by choosing You, they know where to look to unlock inner wisdom for realizing their highest potential. They will live joyfully, acting in accordance with what's best for all. In this way, they will be prepared to face all of life's challenges as each challenge comes from You. They will be unafraid to ask You for help and in so doing can become helpers themselves. They can become the fine leaders this New World so desperately needs.
Love can be confusing -- language makes it so. Language limits love to the literal and prevents experiencing love to its full capacity. Only through experience can we understand love. The Greeks knew better to allow greater appreciation for love as they defined love more broadly, in terms of agape and eros, as two love varietals – not just one. Agape love allows an appreciation of love of Creator. Despite how each chooses to define that which creates, we are creators. Despite physical differences, we are all similar. We are non-physical beings experiencing an earthly existence with hearts that beat alike, with blood that bleeds red, and with organs serving similar functions. God equipped each of us with x-number of breaths for which to live out our purpose. If not for the color of our skin and the differing beliefs that each espouse, we may not realize difference so easily.
Despite the Gods we worship, we worship. Despite beliefs, we believe. Despite the languages we speak, we speak. Despite the longings we possess, we long. Despite feelings, we feel. Despite choices, we choose.
Despite feelings of loneliness, unworthiness, incapability, and lack of love, we are love.
Despite feeling loved or unloved, we wish to receive love.
Love is a choice, and I choose to love – I choose God, for God is love. God will help me overcome all fear. Although God will not interfere with my choices, His will is that I learn not to waste time pursuing earthly sensory pleasures, pleasures that may have no merit in spirit. For God is sorry to have brought us into this world of suffering and offers the gift of will for the way out. He offers countless opportunities for each of us to find peace and love, and it can only be found through Him. For His will is our will, and we must realize that the mystery is none other than this truth.
It's important for my children to understand love. First, in realizing the nature of esteem or caring. Esteem can be understood in the caring for pets, family, or friends, and esteem is extended as they care for things outside of themselves, in relationship and with purpose. This sense of care will enhance an overall feeling of general love.
But love moves beyond esteem, as we must learn self-esteem. In today's world, caring for the self should always be learned at home, taught by parents, but it often gets left in the hands of fate. Children must learn to move out of childhood responsibly, be better able to govern themselves so the world doesn't have to do it for them.
Self-love will allow our children to turn away from the temptations of the world, for the world will call to them as it preys on those most vulnerable. My prayer is that our children find inner strength, inner vision, and self love -- which comes from you Lord. For faith will introduce them to their inner world, a familiar world which will echo loudly – calling them back into remembrance from whence they've come, igniting that inner longing for the safety of a true home, a home which allows them to realize that they have choice. They can choose to find strength from You in exchange for a sense of peace and love for which they can extend to others.
Today's world is challenging. Marriage is difficult, especially with such lack of self-love and the need to survive and to work hard. As challenges mount, our children's needs will be especially great, particularly the need to find inner strength. Inner strength will be what they'll need as they search for a place to retreat. When they discover an inner haven found within the deepest recesses of their soul, within their heart, they can learn how to control their own mind. Self control and self love will allow them to feel love and to conquer fear, hostility, anger, and hatred. Your unconditional love, gentleness, compassion, kindness and guidance will allow our children to cease searching outside themselves ever again.
We must move beyond the survival of the fittest. In this New Age, we are required to do much more than physically endure. There's more tohealth and overall well-being than eating plant-based whole foods, drinking clean water, and properly exercising the physical body. Survival calls upon moral and spiritual strength like never before. Learning how to nurture the self with sensitivity to the feelings of others will allow our children to extend love to the family unit, seeing the purpose of love beyond the self.
Familial love comes with challenges, all very necessary for the soul to awaken and to work itself out. But the family unit is a microcosm of our larger family. My prayer is for our children to look to the larger family and to serve the collective needs of the greatest good.
And so it is.
