Who is Spirit?
Spirit lives inside you. It can only fully live in your body if you keep your body in good condition with: healthy eating, daily exercise, movement of prana or life force, communing with nature, good company, and right thinking are some of the conditions needed for Spirit to stick around and dwell in the physical body.
Why do we need to be concerned with Spirit while living an earthly life?
You don't. That's your choice. Spirit makes Itself known, however, as It looms and tugs at you. It may appear as anxiety or a feeling of anticipation. It wants you to get in touch; to reach out -- to take notice.
How do I know it's Spirit speaking to me?
Spirit speaks to the body. It gives you a feeling deep down inside of your core. The mind or ego speaks from a different place. The ego tries to control Spirit with fear. The egoic mind fills you with doubt. It wants to convince you to stay safe. It wants you to surround yourself with what's familiar so you can stay in “control.”
Where is spirit?
Everywhere. In the flowers. In the clouds.
How Does Spirit Work Through Me?
Spirit works when you allow It to flow through you. To allow the Universe to create through you. With no resistance. To simply surrender with complete trust. It's like lying on your back on a float in the pool; allowing yourself to peacefully drift wherever the water and wind bring you. As you relax and enjoy the clouds, you let it happen. The clouds appear and disappear, floating freely, forming images. You see profiles, angels, animals, symbols . . . Creation is speaking to you and gives you the meaning you need as long as you are open and willing with freedom to allow it to do so.
There is no struggle. Just peace. Spirit relies on your trust. Only with pure faith and total surrender will Spirit provide.
How do I explain Spirit to others?
You don't. You let them figure it out for themselves. You can only embark upon your journey and allow Spirit to help bring you the answers you need. There is no right way. Keep your realizations to yourself. It's your special relationship. Keep it sacred. Make it fun.
We must remember that Spirit helps us to look within . . . It may present opportunities to help make sense of our purpose, through our past experiences, through our pains. Let Spirit take you where you need to go. Spirit will never hurt you or tell you to do something bad. If you hear that, it's ego.
Spirit wants harmony, love, joy. This does not mean there is never pain. Spirit wants you to recognize pain so we understand that it is through the pains and hurts that we evolve and grow and continue to expand. Spirit wants us to realize how strong we are so that It can give us things in life that continue to make us stronger, make us humble.
'Thy will be done' is what spirit wants to hear. Concede. Hand over your will into the hands of Spirit and let It guide your way. It won't always be easy, but it will be just want you need. Sometimes we get carried away with ourselves and think we know all the answers; that's when Spirit hits you in the face and knocks you down. A flat tire, a broken water pipe, sickness. Spirit keeps us in check and wants to make sure we're aware. It wants your attention and more importantly, wants your trust and love.
Worry is futile. Instead, turn to prayer. Worry is simply fear, the lure of the ego. Prayer is a form of devotion, hope, trust, and complete faith in Spirit. Don't turn to others for your answers. Stop researching. Try it out. You can only develop faith by doing. Risk. Leap. Surrender.
Dare to let your Spirit soar.
“If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you” (Romans 8:11, ESV).
