A few years ago, my good friend and yogi, Jean Briddell, introduced me to essential oils. Every time I asked her for a remedy, she ALWAYS raved about essential oils. After months of procrastinating, I finally broke down and purchased the Physician's Kit which included all the basic oils I would need for myself and my family to handle mood management, cleansing my atmosphere, skin issues, digestive issues, bug bites, cooking, healthy weight management, overall health boosting & more . . . My kit sat around unused for quite some time because I was too afraid to try something new. My friend constantly urged me to "just try them." Slowly, I started experimenting. I started out using a little lemon in my drinking water as well as using lemon for cleaning my kitchen cabinets. Next, I experimented with peppermint. I used some peppermint on my son's tummy when he had a bad stomach ache and voila! his stomach ache went away! I also used some peppermint on my toothbrush to freshen my breath. I started feeling more comfortable and bought a diffuser. I started diffusing peppermint and loved the way my house smelled and how it invigorated me and my family! Next I experimented with Lavender. In the past, I never really like the smell of lavender. But after diffusing it one night in an attempt to relax and unwind, I not only slept like a baby but actually loved the smell! From then on, I put about six drops in my bath, along with a little epsom salts and some coconut oil so my skin didn't dry out -- and oh how relaxing!! I even convinced my most skeptical oldest son to try a little lavender on his swollen, infected mosquito bites and again, magic!!
Little by little, I realized that these oils work! They were pure, potent and highly effective. In just a few months, I started LOVING using these oils. By far Frankincense is NOW my absolute GO TO favorite oil of all. I went from timidly experimenting with oils to passionately sharing essential oils with all of my family and friends.
I am so excited about the benefits that these oils have brought my family and me that I now purchase diffusers and oils for all of my family and many of my friends. My family now diffuse oils in their own homes as well as in their workplaces.
